James Michael Anderson, age 74, of Palm Coast, FL passed away on May 10 at home under the care of Vitas Hospice.  Jim was born in Beverly, the son of James F. and Geneva (Rogalski) Anderson.  He graduated from Manchester High School and went on to attend Southern New Hampshire University graduating in 1970 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.  He was a member of Kappa Delta Phi Fraternity, Chi Chapter. On November 29, 1969 he married Jeanne S. Courtemanche, of Claremont, NH, and from this union their daughter Carrie was born.  They bought and co-owned Green Village Cabins in Lincoln, NH from 1983 through 2000 During the winters, Jim also worked at Loon Mountain Ski Resort as an outdoor BBQ chef.  Upon moving to Florida as snowbirds in 1996, Jim worked at various restaurants and eventually as Banquet Chef at Palm Coast Resort.  Jim and Jeanne moved permanently to Palm Coast in 2001.  

Jim’s dedication to others was evident throughout his lifetime Jim earned the Eagle Scout rank in 1962 and received the American Legion Award for Outstanding Heroism for saving the life of a five-year-old boy from drowning in the icy waters in Massachusetts.  He belonged to multiple Knights of Columbus organizations serving as Grand Knight for Council 6725 in Merrimack, NH for two years, Grand Knight for Delaney Council 1730 in Lincoln, NH for six years, member of Littleton-O’Neil Council 1833, and most recently as a member of the Notre Dame Council 10514 in Flagler Beach, FL. Jim was also a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus He was a member of Rotary Club International in Merrimack, NH, and President of the Lincoln-Woodstock, NH Rotary in 1991.  Jim was instrumental in establishing the Lin-Wood Rotary Christmas Program in the 1980’s and was actively involved for 13 years Jim served as Hospital Chaplain for Santa Maria del Mar in Flagler Beach and was very involved with the church community. 

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James and Geneva. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jeanne; his daughter, Carrie (Christopher) Dyer of CT, and grandsons, Benjamin and Elijah Dyer; sister, Jeanne (John) Lombardi of FL, and sisters-in-law, Annette (Edward) Bushway of NY and Elaine (Robert) Stringer, of NH; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

 A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Jim was held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in Santa Maria del Mar Catholic church, 915 Central Ave., Flagler Beach, FL 32136.  Interment will take place this summer in Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln, New Hampshire.  The family has asked that donations be made to Reliance Health, 40 Broadway, Norwich, CT 06360 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
