I am writing today to express my interest in serving on the Manchester Planning Board.
As a long-time resident of “downtown Manchester,” I am ready to help organize a petition to ban gas-powered leaf blowers from the “downtown,” or within the entire town.
At the Annual Town Meeting on Monday, May 4th and at the town election on May 11th, Essex voters will be asked to vote on two override articles, one for the town budget (Article 3) and the other for the MERSD budget (Article 6). On May 11th, town voters will also be asked to support or deny these same questions at the ballot box.
Last year, Manchester by the Sea's largest town meeting turnout in memory voted to approve state-mandated MBTA zoning changes that allowed limited multifamily housing. Residents came prepared to ask hard questions, listen to expertise, and make an informed decision.
