To the Editor,
Manchester is blessed to have a marvelous performance space at MERHS, home to the Cape Ann Symphony.
Now Cantemus, the "small chorus with the grand sound," is teaming up with the North Shore's own Miranda Russell to present The Great American Songbook (with a modern twist, from Porter to Prince) on Saturday May 2nd at 7:30 p.m. at MERHS.
Cantemus will open with lively interpretations of classics from Cole Porter, the Gershwins, and more, followed by a set of modern American classics (from Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Paul Simon) by Miranda and her band. Finally, Miranda, her band, and Cantemus together will deliver songs from Linda Ronstadt, Aretha Franklin, and yes, even Prince like you've never heard them before.
Cantemus members come from throughout the North Shore, including several from Manchester, and we wish to grow our audience in Manchester. This will be a vibrant musical experience all will enjoy — please join us on the 2nd!
