To the Editor:
For approximately thirty years, the senior citizens of Manchester-by-the-Sea have steadfastly volunteered their time towards having a dedicated location to gather together. Today, volunteers remain devoted to this mission and the recent Town agreement in the newly configured Masonic Lodge will become a welcoming place and opportunity to serve as the venue for senior’s daily quality of life and in collective life as well.
A BIG thank you goes to today’s present and prior volunteers during this National Volunteer Recognition Month who have spent many hours on this endeavor. The Town could have not done this without you. You are the anchors in the community. A special thank you goes out to Selectman John Round and resident Susan Beckmann for their continual participation in this ongoing unified group.
Residents of all ages can join the Friends of the Manchester Council on Aging (F.C.O.A.), and which is an independent non-profit governed entity. Manchester’s Council on Aging (C.O.A.) offers a Town Board with an age eligible requirement for membership.
