LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Here’s to the MBTS Legion and all It Does!

Posted

To the Editor,

I would just like to take a second to thank the Manchester American Legion Post 113 for all the hard work done over the past month hosting a variety of local and community events with great success.

On the second Monday of every month, the Legion hosts a Bingo Game, which has become a fan favorite.  The twins from Brighton, Michelle and Karen, have put together a wonderful night of fun.

The Fourth of July Committee brought in Lisa Love a couple weeks back for a fundraising concert that did not disappoint.  The group has already scheduled the band for next year’s fundraiser.

Last week’s annual St. Patrick’s Day feast put on by the Manchester Essex Rotary was a huge success of great music and great food.  I’d like to give a big shout out to Chris Shea for a fine job.

The monthly Legion and Manchester Club dinners (held the second and third Thursdays of every month) have also fed and entertained everyone in attendance.

All of this could not be done without town support, but more importantly the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes.

A special thank you to Allan Kirker Post Commander, Sean Zahn (the “cook extraordinaire” about whom I like to say, “I’ve taught him everything I forgot.”) and Jeff Milne.

This Sunday, the last Sunday of the month, the Legion and I will host our regular brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  It’s good food with great friends at a wonderful location to start the day.  Hope to see you all there.
