Political platform statement
I moved to Manchester-by-the-Sea three years ago with my wife, drawn by the opportunity to live closer to her family and raise our own family in a town known for its incredible natural beauty, historic charm, and welcoming community.
Before coming to Massachusetts, I lived and worked in Boulder, Colorado, where I led public affairs and community outreach campaigns for a number of local planning efforts — including affordable housing, senior housing, and smart land use initiatives.
Today, I serve on Manchester’s Bike & Pedestrian Committee, where I’ve focused on making our streets safer and more accessible for everyone — whether you're biking to the beach, walking downtown, or crossing the street with your kids or grandkids. I'm now running for a seat on the Planning Board to bring a younger voice and a fresh perspective to the critical decisions that shape our town’s future.
I believe in:
- Housing that works for everyone – Manchester needs a wider range of housing choices that meet the needs of young families, older adults, and long-time residents. I bring real-world experience in affordable, senior, and multifamily housing, and I’ll work to ensure new development reflects the town’s scale, values, and long-term needs.
- Smart growth and strong community – Growth and conservation aren’t in conflict — they go hand-in-hand when planning is done right. I’ll support projects that protect open space, boost the local economy, and keep Manchester’s small-town character front and center.
- Safe streets and a vibrant downtown – A strong downtown is the heart of a thriving community. I’ll advocate for safer sidewalks, traffic-calming measures, and better pedestrian infrastructure — but also for planning decisions that support our local businesses, attract foot traffic, and keep our village center active and economically vibrant. Whether you're walking to the post office, shopping at a local store, or dining out with friends, our downtown should be welcoming, accessible, and alive with energy.
- Local voices and transparent planning – Good planning starts with good listening. I’ll work to bring more neighbors into the process early on, and I’ll prioritize clear, transparent communication on every issue before the board.
Manchester is a special place, and I’m committed to helping it grow in ways that reflect our shared values — as a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient seaside town.
I respectfully ask for your vote on May 20 so I can continue working for a future that honors Manchester’s past while planning thoughtfully for what’s ahead.
