Manchester Sailing Association will Open for the 2020 Season

Posted

The Manchester Sailing Association (MSA) community-based sailing program has announced that classes will be offered for the 2020 summer season.  The season starts June 22 – August 14.  New class registration was made available June 4 on the MSA website, and they began filling up fast.

The MSA has aligned its operational plan to comply with state and town camp guidelines in light of COVID-19 related requirements.   All guidelines can be found on the MSA site.

The club will maintain the schedule of two-week class sessions starting June 22 (contingent that MA will move to Phase II of reopening) but adjustments to the schedule will include a lower student count per class and a revised series of classes.

Unfortunately, given the need for continued social distancing, MSA will not be able to offer adult sailing classes or the Sea Urchin program (age seven) this summer.

MSA is thrilled to be able to continue this favorite North Shore summertime tradition that has been teaching confidence and resilience on the water since 1971.   The MSA teaches students of all skill levels and experience and students will have fun learning to sail as they develop new friendships and gain independence on the water.  The MSA curriculum promotes on-water safety, fun, and sportsmanship.  All registrants who have already signed up for a class (other than Adult Sailing or Sea Urchin) will be auto-enrolled in the appropriate new class and be contacted by an MSA representative.

“While the response to COVID-19 is continuously changing, MSA will be following the guidelines to have a safe and healthy summer and we look forward to getting back on the water, teaching sailing skills, and having fun,” the club said.
