The sky was aglow with shining stars on Sunday, November 3 at Spaulding Education Fund’s 11th annual Night of Stars Talent Show. This year's production directed with style by Manchester Essex High School teacher Erin Fortunato and included over 70 amazingly talented performers singing, dancing, orating, performing comedic acts and playing musical instruments. The emcees, senior Breno Santos and sophomore Chis Siems, kept the show moving smoothly and delighted the packed Manchester Essex Auditorium with their wit and professionalism.
The Night of Stars, traditionally one of Spaulding Education Fund's biggest fundraisers, did not disappoint, raising more than $20,000. As an independent, non-profit organization with a mission to provide competitive advantages to the Manchester-Essex schools through strategic investments in compelling educational initiatives, 100 percent of the funds will be directed back to the schools in the form of grants supporting innovative programs and the newest technologies.
In the introduction to the show, the Spaulding Education Steering Committee acknowledged the importance of the entire community for the success of the event and as a result, for the Spaulding Education Fund. There was much gratitude expressed to the participants, for sharing their talent and time, and to their parents, for their unending support and love of their children. Local business sponsors were called out for their keen understanding that by investing in our schools, they are helping to strengthen the greater community.
