Colonial Play At Essex Elementary

Posted

The third graders at Essex Elementary turned back time today for their annual Colonial Day last week as they headed into the Thanksgiving break.  Students dressed in traditional Colonial costumes and learned about life during the time period.  They made corn husk dolls, churned butter, mixed corn cakes, practice writing with quill pens and ink, created footballs from the Wampanoag tribe, dyed fabric using fruits and vegetables, and participated in Wampanoag and Colonial games.  Looks like they had a great time!
