New Games As Winter Season Kicks Off


After weeks of planning, strategizing and obtaining approval and guidance from multiple governing bodies, the winter season kicked off for Manchester Essex High School teams last week, giving athletes participating in sports like basketball, skiing, swimming and skiing the opportunity to compete with other schools in the Cape Ann League. New guidelines have been put in place in hopes of making each sport safer to play in light of COVID-19 restrictions, and in some instances will alter how games are played.  This week, the Hornets’ enthralled during Monday night’s home game against Newburyport. The game was neck and neck until the end of the second half, with seconds left and the Clippers ahead by three, a failed 3-point attempt sealed the Hornets’ fate. They are 2-1 for the season and next face Triton at MERHS on Wednesday the 13th
