Surprise Snow, Holiday Tease

Posted

MONDAY 6:30 PM | UTOPIA FARM STAND

On Monday night when the surprise storm came in (to the delight of all children in the school district) there happened to be two “photo-worthy” events in Manchester and in Essex we had targeted to feature in this week’s edition of the paper. First up was a late afternoon wreath-making workshop with Susie Talbot at the cozy and charming Essex Shipbuilding Museum. Upon arriving, the snow was already coming down, so it wasn’t surprising to see the museum dark and a posting online that the event had been postponed to Monday, December 9. Alas, onto our second photo opportunity, a “meet the politician” event with Senator Bruce Tarr at the Manchester Community Center. Arriving to an also-closed Community Center, the sign on the door told us the event will be rescheduled in January. Between Essex and Manchester came this scene at Utopia Farms, open for business selling Christmas trees with the snow whipping around. Perhaps this was the best shot of all.
