The Board of Selectmen would like to wish the Manchester community a safe and happy 4th of July Holiday.  

Fire Chief Update: New Manchester-by-the-Sea Fire Chief, Jason Cleary, will be officially sworn in on Thursday, July 2 at 11:30 a.m. This event will be live steamed on Facebook at @TownofMBTSOfficial at 11:30 a.m. 

Fireworks Reminder from the MBTS Fire Department: Many professional displays have been cancelled or postponed this year due to the pandemic including here in MBTS. Fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts and throughout the Commonwealth, the number of reports of illegal fireworks has skyrocketed over the past several weeks, and there have been several house fires caused by illegal fireworks.  

Manchester’s July 4th at Home: In lieu of the traditional July 4th Parade this year, the Town hosted a patriotic home decorating contest. MBTS residents will be provided with a list of homes participating and are encouraged to join the fun and drive by on July 4th from 9 a.m. until noon. 

Town Hall will officially reopen to the public on July 6Prior to July 6, please email the appropriate department directly to schedule a time to come in to conduct business. Board and committee meetings will continue to be conducted virtually.  

Unclaimed Funds: Pursuant to Mass General Law 200A, Jennifer Yaskell, Treasurer for the Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, hereby serves notices of names of persons or vendors appearing to be owners of funds held by the Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA and deemed abandoned. Please visit Manchester.ma.us to see the list and make a claim 

Phase of Reopening MBTS Parks and BeachesMBTS Beaches are open seven days a week to residents onlyStaffed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. by Parks and Recreation and/or Manchester Police Department. Walk-on passes must be visible on every resident between 12 and 65 years old for admittance. A face covering is required when entering and exiting the beach rampParking lot is open to residents only with 2020 Beach Stickers. Please see the Town website to read the complete rule and guidelines 

Town Hall Payment Drop Box: Installed at the rear of Town Hall by the Police Station Blue Door and monitored by a security camera. Please use this convenient box to drop payments off for any Town Bills. Please No Cash! 

Trash, Recycling, CompostRegular trash/recycling collection schedule. Transfer station will be closed on July 4th.
