Remembering Motorcycle Safety

Posted

It was a packed house Sunday for the American Legion Riders, Chapter 113-hosted Nelson's Family Pancake Breakfast and Governor's annual Motorcycle Safety Awareness Period Proclamation.  Nelson Brophy died in a motorcycle accident in 2000, and State Sen. Bruce Tarr and presented the proclamation from the State House to Nelson's mother Faye and wife Felicia.  Father Bob Brophy, an accomplished woodcarver from Essex who created the town’s cherished “Eagle’s Nest” carving, was there too with his family.  The Bikers Helping Bikers team members also thanked US Congressmen Seth Moulton, who shared his work driving the passage of "The Safe Driver's Act” in Congress and his recent signing onto as a co-sponsor of House Resolution 366, the “anti-profiling of motorcyclists” resolution.

All in all, a great event at the Amaral Bailey Legion Hall in Manchester.
