Buchanan's Beautiful White Mountain Treks

Posted

Manchester resident and attorney Bailey Buchanan has spent a lot of time this season hiking New England’s White Mountains, named in June by Fodors as the Number One most beautiful forest in its “10 Most Beautiful Forests in the US.”  Since late May, Buchanan has summited sixteen mountains in the White Mountain National Forest.  And besides being good for her head and health, her passion has offered a great way to socially distance and most hikes are just a car drive away.  The White Mountain National Forest is a gem—1,225 square miles, with six designated Federal Wilderness Areas, 1,200 miles of hiking trails and 23 campgrounds, including over 160 miles of the Appalachian Trail as it traverses the Granite State.
