Who I’m Supporting for Planning Board

Posted

As a retiring member of the Planning Board, I’m grateful to have served in this capacity and wish to thank my colleagues on the board, town staff, and residents.  It was a privilege to volunteer as an elected official in service of the town.

Manchester is fortunate to have a strong field of candidates for Planning Board.  I will be voting for Gordon Brewster, Sandy Bodmer-Turner, and Brian Frey.

Gordon brings deep professional experience as a registered engineer with a career of project management skills in land development.  In my time serving alongside Gordon, I watched him expertly critique and strengthen a number of important projects, including CST.  He is a sharp critic and advocate for good planning and design.

Sandy’s recent service on the MBTA Task Force drew on her training and career leadership roles in land use planning, business management, and environmental stewardship.  Those professional skills combined with what I've observed of her level-headed, intelligent, and empathetic approach to tackling difficult problems will make her a great asset to the Board.

Though I haven’t met Mr. Frey, I believe his professional expertise in community outreach and public affairs for land use, housing, and smart growth planning efforts, plus his volunteer work for the Pedestrian and Bike Committee, make him an excellent candidate who will bring complementary skills to the makeup of the Board.

All of the candidates running for Planning Board have my gratitude for stepping forward to volunteer their time and expertise to carry on the work.

Sincerely,
Laura Tenny
Manchester
