Melvin, the six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gafney, while playing with an ice chisel on Saturday afternoon cut the little toe of his left foot nearly off, Dr. Alonzo Ellis dressed the wound.
Quite a number from this town were in attendance of the Annual Farm and Home Day exercises at the Essex County Agricultural school in Danvers last week.
