Beverly Farms' Extraordinary Immigrant Stories

“Nobody tells the story of the working class.” Nancy Coffey

Nancy Coffey began researching the history of immigrants to Beverly Farms starting in the 1970s as a volunteer for the local historical society, and as her research grew she began giving talks on the 19th and 20th century working classes in "The Farms" at popular public library lectures.  Her work has grown into a book, which she is currently finishing, on the history of Beverly Farms.  Her book is notable not only for its academic importance, but also for its inclusion of these immigrant families and their contributions and experiences which are an essential part of the historical fabric of “The Farms.”
