The Manchester Essex Regional High School Debate Team celebrated a successful weekend at the Shrewsbury Mardi Gras Tournament, held February 28 at Shrewsbury High School. Competing in the Public Forum debate division, all three MERHS teams posted winning records of 3–2, the mark required to qualify for the Massachusetts State Debate Tournament.

The Annual Town Meeting is a time for residents to come together to vote on important matters to keep our community thriving. At this year’s meeting on April 27, in addition to the budget, we will vote on four Zoning Bylaw updates and one General Bylaw update proposed by the Planning Board.

The idea of giving tax relief for seniors who need it has been something of a dogged theme in Essex.  It’s a tough nut to crack, especially for small towns. 

The Manchester Essex Regional High School Debate Team had an exciting weekend at the Harvard National Debate Tournament, one of the largest and most competitive high school events in the country.

In the course of just a few months, the Manchester Essex girls basketball team has come a long way.
