Wilma McManus, 86 of Manchester-by-the-Sea, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 20th surrounded by loved ones. Born in Glasgow, Scotland she was the daughter to the late Jeanie (Beatie) Linstrum and beloved wife to the late Richard McManus of Stamford, CT.
Wilma came to the United States in her early 20s and was very proud of her career at the lab technician at the International Microwave Corporation and Microphase in Connecticut where she met her husband, Richie. Later in life she became the loving caretaker of Mary Connors, sister of Patricia Talty and her husband, Joseph, of Manchester-by-the-Sea, with whom she lived with for the last 19 years.
Wilma is survived by her nephew, Glen Cuthbert of London, England; two nieces, Patty Taccone and Nancy Carnavalla of Stamford, CT.
In addition to her mother, she is predeceased by her husband, Richard McManus; one brother, John Linstrum, and his wife, Pat; two sisters, Catherine Linstrum and Lily Linstrum Cuthbert.
Her funeral Mass will be at Sacred Heart Church, 62 School Street, Manchester-by-the-Sea, on Tuesday, April 28th at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be at the St. John Cemetery with her husband, Richie in Darien, CT. Contributions may be made in Wilma’s memory to the North Shore Arc, 1 Southside Road, Danvers, MA 01923.
