Vote Leslie Beatty for Library Trustee

To the Editor,

I am writing in support of the candidacy of Leslie Beatty for the position of Library Trustee in the upcoming Town elections on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
I have known Leslie for almost 20 years and my support for Leslie is based on two main attributes that she would bring to this important position.
First, she is an engaged member of our community and has the energy and commitment to make the most of her responsibilities in this role. Community service is not a new concept for Leslie. She has been serving on the Board of the M BTS Museum for five years: alternated leadership of the Manchester Welcoming Committee for five years; volunteering at the Manchester Public Library and Open Door; and serving as a docent at the Cape Ann Museum.
Second, she has a lifelong passion for libraries and understands the important role that a library can play in our community. Her first library experience was as a staff member at the Boxford Library while she attended high school. This early interest carried into her educational experience earning a Master's Degree in Information Science. Professionally, her career in research and writing led to her favorite position as a junior high school librarian for an independent school in Dallas for 15 years.
Leslie has the right experience and dedication to help our Library play a meaningful role in our community in the years ahead. I ask you to consider joining me with a vote for Leslie Beatty as Library Trustee in our upcoming Town elections.
Sincerely
Sam Philbrick
