Last week’s evening of Troop 3’s Spring Court of Honor took place on an idyllic summer evening in the side garden of the Scout House with family and friends gathered to attend the end-of-year ceremony, led by scouts to recognize achievement of their fellow scouts.
The end of season awards brought recongnition to hard working Scouts. The Court of Honor is a formal recognition ceremony for Scouts who have earned merit badges, rank advancement and awards since the Winter Court of Honor. Troop 3 has recaptured much of its energy and verve, following a transition years ago to welcome girls into scouting and new leaders joining the traditional slate of volunteers who guided Troop 3 for decades.
Following the ceremony, as dusk settled in at around 8:30 p.m., everyone was invited to the rear of the property on School Street to enjoy a campfire.
