On Saturday, the 4th of July, a large assembly of family and friends gathered at Norwood Avenue to honor the memory of Carole Mastendino at a Longevity Bench Dedication ceremony. Father Paul Flammia of the Sacred Heart Church presided, and after heartfelt words from Carole’s husband, Jeff, and her sister, Kristen Monahan, Father Paul blessed the bench, the family, and the crowd with holy water.

The Longevity Bench project was founded by Manchester resident Lisa Bonneville to enhance walkability in town for all people by providing benches to take a break along popular walking routes. The project depends on donations. This spot will commemorate Manchester’s 375th anniversary by placing a Longevity Bench on Pine Street near Newport Park.
