Supporting Christina Delisio for the 5th District

Posted

To the Editor,

Hi everyone.  I have had the privilege of knowing Christina Delisio for over four years.  Throughout that time, she has consistently demonstrated common sense, conservative values, intelligence, and a genuine care for people—regardless of political affiliation.  Christina is running for State Representative and needs your vote on March 3rd (Primary) and March 31st (General Election).

For those who may not know Christina, she taught Civics in the Lynn Public School System and began her well-respected career in environmental consulting.  She served the residents of Manchester on the Planning Board for ten years, including time as Vice Chair.  During her service, Christina addressed environmental issues that were not being adequately managed and consistently stood against overdevelopment.

Christina is a graduate of UMass Lowell, where she earned degrees in Political Science and History.  She went on to attend New England Law | Boston, earning her Juris Doctor while she and her husband raised three young children.  She has since developed into a highly capable and dedicated attorney.  Beyond her impressive professional background, Christina has made significant contributions by providing Cape Ann residents—and communities across Massachusetts—with well-researched, accurate information regarding the MBTA Communities Act.  These efforts once again demonstrate her resourcefulness, willingness to serve, and leadership—qualities the State House urgently needs.  Specifically:

  • Christina created and maintains the Facebook group “MBTA Multifamily Zoning Communities (No Thank You, Keep Your Grant Money)”, which serves as an open forum for residents to share news, facts, and legal information about the MBTA Communities Act. The group has grown to over 4,000 members, including engaged citizens and conscientious public officials.
  • Christina delivered presentations to civic groups in Rockport, Gloucester, and Manchester, explaining the facts and fallacies of the MBTA Communities Act. She was also a key contributor to presentations delivered in nearly two dozen towns across Massachusetts, helping communities understand the scope and impact of this overreaching legislation.

  • Christina initiated the request for a formal determination on whether the MBTA Communities Act constitutes an unfunded mandate. Although the State Auditor could initially respond only to specific municipal officials, several towns ultimately met the criteria. The State Auditor concluded that the Act is an unfunded mandate.  While the courts initially disagreed, multiple municipalities have appealed and continue to challenge the decision.
Based on all of the above, I strongly recommend Christina Delisio for State Representative
of Cape Ann.  I am personally asking you to make the effort to vote for her.  Your vote truly
will make a difference.

Whether you live on Cape Ann or elsewhere, your support is most welcome:
