To the Editor,
Last weekend, we held our 7th Annual Manchester By-The-Sea Fishing Tournament. It brings us great joy to see the fishing community gather and grow.
Reflecting on this year's tournament, we keep coming back to how we are building a community of anglers and increasing access to our beautiful waters and natural surroundings. Over the weekend, we loved seeing anglers on the shore and out on the water, all purposefully having fun. After seven years, we are really seeing the vision come to fruition.
We are a 100% volunteer-run non-profit, and what we do would not be possible without the support of our community. Thank you to the following organizations:
Striper Level: Cell Signaling Technologies, Hooper Fund, Crocker's Boatyard, Tomo Tackle
Mackerel Level: Michelle Baer Designs, Manchester Marine, Manchester Harbor Boat Club, Three Lanterns
Pogie Level: Fisherman's Outfitter, Ceramica Del Mar, C.K. Pearl, Bravo By the Sea Pizza, Butchie Built, Nelsons, Nellie's, Christine's Bakery by the Sea
None of this happens without volunteers, and we owe a huge thank you to the individuals who gave their time to make this year's tournament happen: Mandy Beausoleil for photos; Theo Caplan and Will Connell for leading our shore fishing night; Kyle Mueller for website assistance; Meredith Dozier for collecting prizes; the Spencer family for helping at check-in; and Michelle Baer for her artistic vision.
Thank you to everyone who supported and participated in this year's tournament. We couldn't do it without you.
Sincerely, Nate and Sally Berkowitz, Peter and Christina Yukins
