To the Editor,
Everything gets done through relationships. Can anyone accomplish anything meaningful alone, without the support, encouragement, and cooperation of others? This is true in everyday life — but it is especially true in politics, where building coalitions is essential to passing legislation, securing resources, and serving constituents effectively.
That is why I am deeply concerned about Christina Delisio's candidacy for the State House seat vacated by Ann-Margaret Ferrante.
I watched firsthand as Delisio served on the Manchester Planning Board. Rather than working constructively with her fellow board members, she squandered those relationships through relentless obfuscation and delay tactics that left the board unable to accomplish its work. She operated not from a positive vision for the community's future, but from a reflexive impulse to stop, block, and cancel. She repeatedly claimed to speak on behalf of town residents — and while she did represent some, it was a notably small fraction of the town's voters.
The damage she caused was not merely procedural. She alienated people who had previously supported her, souring goodwill that takes years to build.
A state legislator must be able to work across the aisle, cultivate relationships throughout the district, and collaborate with colleagues to move things forward. Delisio's record on the Planning Board shows us exactly who she is. Voters in our district deserve a representative driven by a unifying vision — not by obstruction and division.
