READ ON!

To the Editor,

Thanks to the town for making this year's Friends of the Manchester Library Book Sale such a success.

So many of you came out, browsed the boxes of books and went home with piles.  We thank Citizens Private Bank for partnering with us for the Friends of the Library bags that were on sale.  If you didn't get one, they will continue to be offered at the library.  The music of The Music Man enlivened our morning.  Thanks to so many volunteers who made this heavy lift event go smoothly.  From helping at the book donation drives we had in June and July, to the set up on Friday, to the many shifts on Saturday and the clean up—you made it happen!  The energy all day Saturday was palpable: people who love to read and love books.  The theme at the library this summer sums it up: Plant a seed and read.

With gratitude,

Leslie Schoenherr

President, Friends of the Manchester-by-the-Sea Library
