To the Editor, My dear friend Michael Scarlata is running for Republican State Committeeman in the First Essex and Middlesex district which includes Manchester and surrounding towns. I have known Michael for several years and have witnessed his compassion to building the Republican Party in the district and throughout Massachusetts. A year ago, he announced that he was running for the State Committee. At the time I had no idea what the position of State Committee entailed. I am sure I am not alone. Essentially what Michael told me was that the Republican State committee is the governing body of the Republican party in Massachusetts. The Republican State Committee is responsible for building the Republican Party in their district, recruiting candidates to run for office, helping with fundraising and registering new voters. Obviously living in Massachusetts, the bluest of blue states these tasks are very challenging. However, if anyone can be successful in accomplishing these tasks it is Michael Scarlata. He has been a Republican Political Activist for decades and has volunteered, managed, and advised several campaigns including State Representatives Brad Hill, Brad Jones, Lenny Mirra, Governor Charlie Baker, Gubernatorial candidate Geoff Diehl, Congressional Candidate Bob May to name a few. I can’t think of a better man to be elected to the Republican State Committee than Michael Scarlata. He has a record of accomplishment within the Republican Party that is second to none.
