Member Milestones At The Manchester Club

The Manchester Club met at the Legion Hall on Thursday evening, October 21.  Club members and their guests were treated to a delicious dinner of Chicken Cordon Bleu with rice pilaf and green beans that was prepared by the Scott Boys - Adam & Taylor, and their kitchen crew.

After dinner, Club President Steve Stasiak led the pledge of allegiance and called the meeting to order.  A moment of silence was held for the passing of 50-year member Robert “Bob” Singleton.  While the guest speaker had to cancel at the last minute, Club Secretary Craige McCoy took a few minutes to remember Manchester native Father David Curran who recently passed away.  Secretary McCoy noted that Father Curran was the very first recipient of the club’s annual scholarship which is awarded to one or more graduating high school seniors each June.

Secretary McCoy also recognized the club members who are celebrating their 25th and 50th anniversaries as members of the club this year and several new members to the club as well.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 18.  Ken Davis and his kitchen crew will be serving his very popular Portuguese Pot Roast dinner and the club’s annual scholarship raffle that was pushed back from last May will be held.  Members can expect to receive an invitation via email around the first week of November.  Members who would like to pre-register for the November dinner meeting can email therealmanchesterclub@gmail.com as the club works to get its email address list “dialed in”.
