On Tuesday July 5, the MHS Class of ’72 held their 50th reunion at the Chowder House. Thirty-seven classmates traveled to Tuck’s Point to renew acquaintances and reminisce about the “old days”.
The Reunion Committee of Mike Chapman, Gary Stirgwolt, Martha Parrish Chapman, Lorraine bullock Schulte, Patricia Keating Ryan, Candy Smith Manero, Lori Bailey, Donna Burgess, Wendee Almela, Pat Ring, Mark Weld, and Lisa Whittemore arranged for a sumptuous lobster and steak dinner catered by Julie Geary and Todd Crane of Classic Cooks.
The Decoration Committee of Lorraine Bullock Schulte, Candy Smith Manero, Patricia Keating Ryan, and Martha Parrish Chapman decorated the Chowder House with creative centerpieces and posters with pictures of classmates from Kindergarten to Senior year.
Classmates who traveled the farthest: Jean Fitzgerald Capello from Hawaii, Patricia Keating Ryan from California, and Linda Olsen from the state of Washington.
The Class donated over $3,500 to the Manchester Essex Education Fund Class of ’72 Fund. The MEEF was founded in 1974 by Sally Weld, mother of classmate Mark Weld.
