Local Leaders Honored at Discover Gloucester 2023 Annual Holiday Awards

Discover Gloucester highlighted the significant contributions of some key local leaders at its 2023 Holiday Awards Luncheon last Thursday at Cruiseport Gloucester.

Gloucester Mayor Greg Verga attended the event along with Massachusetts State Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante and a representative from the office of Mass. State Senator Bruce Tar.   All award recipients were presented with municipal and state citations for their impactful roles in Gloucester’s tourism economy.

Highlighting Community and Economic Development Leaders

This year's awards recognized rising stars and seasoned veterans in their respective fields.  Special recognition was given to Alana Horne and Kiley Davis for their community leadership in Gloucester's Magnolia neighborhood, especially with the creation of a popular summer weekly farmers market in Magnolia, as well as an annual "MagToberfest" festival every October.  Their dedication and efforts have been instrumental in fostering community spirit and growth.

Celebrating Key Contributors to Gloucester’s Tourism and Business Sectors

Isabel Pett, the 400+ Anniversary Event Manager, was acknowledged for her exceptional event planning skills, contributing significantly to Gloucester's vibrant cultural scene.  Joey Ciaramitaro, host of Good Morning Gloucester and a staunch advocate for small businesses, was also among the awardees, celebrated for his continuous support and promotion of local enterprises.

Honoring Foundational Figures in Discover Gloucester

Lenny and Dottie Linquata, the revered owners of Blue Collar Lobster and The Gloucester House, were honored for their foundational role in supporting Gloucester’s local business community.  Their ongoing generosity and collaboration has been a cornerstone of our initiatives and endeavors.

A Legacy Award for Enduring Leadership

The event was especially notable for presenting a legacy award to Tobin Dominick, honored as a founding board member at Discover Gloucester and her active involvement with other economic development organizations across Essex County.
