To the Editor:
Halloween is enjoyed by many, especially children. This year the celebration will be different because of the COVID 19 pandemic. We want people to enjoy the holiday, but safely.
The activities in the schedule have been planned by various groups involved in previous celebrations, but this year worked together to develop events for residents to enjoy. The groups involved in the planning are the Manchester Community Center, The Manchester Mothers’ Club, the Manchester Halloween Committee, the Manchester Police Department, The Health Department and the Manchester Park and Recreation Department. The activities are for families and individuals to enjoy.
Pick up will be at the American Legion on Saturday, October 31 from 3-5pm. There will be a drive through at the American Legion parking lot for pick up. All families will be asked to remain in the car and wear masks.
The organizers wish to stress:
The activities shown in the schedule have been considered and approved by the Board of Selectman and the Board of Health. The activities should provide something for everyone. All residents may not participate in ALL activities but hopefully everyone finds something they can enjoy!
The goodie bags for the goodie bag pick-up will entail expenses, so if you would like to donate to support that part of the celebration, please mail a check to Manchester Halloween Committee, PO Box 1422, Manchester, MA. 01944.
For the last 70 years the Manchester Halloween Committee has been serving the children of Manchester by the Sea. This year they are pleased to announce they will continue to bring spooktacular joy to all Trick or Treaters by giving away FREE Goodie/Treat Bags.
Registration will be open from October 9th to October 23rd. There is no fee to register - these bags are totally free to Manchester by the Sea residents! Just register at www.mbtsrec.com.
Thanks.
Please enjoy Halloween, but make it safe for all.
