“Jump into Spring” Art Show in Magnolia Features 100+ Local Paintings to Support Community Library

The Magnolia Library and Community Center, in collaboration with Cape Ann Plein Air, is hosting "Jump into Spring," a community art show from March 29 to April 5, 2025, open daily from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The event will feature over 100 paintings by local artists, with proceeds benefiting the library. An opening reception is scheduled for March 29 at 4 p.m.

Participating artists include:
Barbara Levine: Specializes in landscapes, interiors, and still lifes in oil and gouache. An artist member of the Rockport and North Shore Art Associations, she has won several awards and is a juried member of Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society.
Beth Buckingham: An oil painter residing on Cape Ann's coast, Beth studied Fine Arts at the College of the Holy Cross. She serves on the Board of Governors of the Rockport Art Association & Museum and the Board of Trustees of Cape Ann Plein Air.
Richard Giedd:
An award-winning painter and graphic designer who attended the Vesper George School of Art. His approach is influenced by the Boston School, with all his teachers trained by R.H. Ives Gammel.
Pat Alto: Co-President of Cape Ann Plein Air and holds board positions at Rocky Neck Art Colony and Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the New England Experimental Art Group.
Traci Thayne Corbett: Based in Gloucester for 25 years, Traci works in oil, focusing on translating Cape Ann light through a direct, painterly approach. She is the Executive Director of Cape Ann Art Haven, a community art studio in Gloucester.
Linda Jo Nielsen: A New England native and juried member of the North Shore Arts Association and the Rockport Art Association & Museum. She portrays her love of the natural world in her landscapes, seascapes, and wildlife of Cape Ann.
Michael A. Storella: Became seriously interested in oil painting in 1994 and enjoys the challenge of painting nature. He has taken classes with accomplished art teachers and focuses on plein air landscape painting.
Linda Berry: A local artist who paints predominantly on the North Shore and mostly on location. She is drawn to "magic moments" like the play of light and moody atmosphere. Linda is a juried artist at Northshore Arts in Gloucester.
Ann Goldberg: An award-winning artist working in both oil and pastel. She is a juried member of Rockport, North Shore, and Marblehead art associations, with most of her paintings depicting the Cape Ann area.
William Fusco: An avid outdoorsman and painter in the Cape Ann area, known for his work executed with the palette knife combined with strong color and design.
The event will be held at the Magnolia Library and Community Center, located at 1 Lexington Avenue in Magnolia.
This art show offers a unique opportunity to support local artists and contribute to the library's fundraising efforts.
