John “Jock” Dobson Goodall Jr. passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at age 79, after a long Illness.

Jock was born in Beverly, Mass., on April 2, 1947.  He was the son of the late John Dobson Goodall Sr and Helene Chadwick Goodall of Manchester.

Jock graduated from Manchester High School class of 1965.  After graduation Jock attended Wentworth Institute in Boston and then Enlisted in the U.S, Navy during the Vietnam War conflict, where he served on the Submarine Tender, USS Canopus , based in Holy Lock Scotland.

Upon discharge Jock attended North Shore Community College and received  his certification as a respiratory Therapist (RTT) before obtaining his certification as a Registered Nurse from the Whidden Memorial Hospital School Of Nursing and then attended the University of Maine to earn his certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).  Jock went on to work for a
number of hospitals, including Salem Hospital where he retired from after many years.

A free spirit, Jock enjoyed skiing, sailing, and windsurfing and spent many days at White and Black Beach while growing up on Ocean Street.  As a car enthusiast, he enjoyed working on his antique Austin Healy and attending vintage auto shows.

He leaves behind his sister Carolyn Goodall of Manchester, a brother Joseph and his wife, Ellen Thompson Goodall,  of Beverly and sister, Ann Goodall Eastwood, and her husband, Steve, of Seattle, Washington and several nieces and nephews.

Per Jock’s wishes there will be no services.  A private celebration of life will be held in September.
