To the Editor,
As we enter the season of giving we are hoping that you’ll consider donating to the Cape Ann Kids Holiday Fund which is a collaboration of Action, Inc., Pathways for Children and Wellspring - all located in Gloucester.
Cape Ann Kids provides the opportunity for parents/guardians who qualify to choose gifts at a "shopping event" held during the third week in December. To date we have received over 400 family applications, and we expect that number to closely double by the end of this month. That will mean that over 1,000 children, ages newborn to 18, will be receiving gifts through the generosity of many on Cape Ann. With the cost of utilities rising, food insecurity increasing and the lack of federal funding for so many "in need" programs reduced or cut, the need is the largest in recent history.
How you can help:
• Make a cash donation online or mail a check (checks must be made out to Action Inc.)
• Purchase items from our Amazon Wishlist
• Drop off new, unwrapped toys at one of our collection sites
(list of collection sites will be available at capeannkids.org beginning in November).
There is a collection box at Manchester Town Hall, and all toys must be dropped off by Thursday, December 11th or if you’d prefer you can drop off a toy at Pathways for Children in Gloucester no later than December 12th.
As members of the Action, Inc. board of directors we thank you for your consideration of this most special Cape Ann cause.
Gratefully,
Muffin Driscoll, Sally Berkowitz, Lindsay Banks
