To the Editor,
I ask you to vote for Dru Tarr for state representative. I also want to clarify some misstatements about his opponent Christina Delisio. I served alongside her on Manchester’s Planning Board and know first-hand how disruptive and irresponsible she can be.
Dru Tarr was Research and District Director to MA Representative AnnMargaret Ferrante, and steadfastly supported Ferrante’s work as her cancer advanced and as she advocated for the working families of Cape Ann. A lifelong resident of Gloucester, he is keenly aware of the issues our communities face. His 10 years of experience on Beacon Hill as a pro-active team player on behalf of Cape Ann is a huge advantage in securing housing, education and climate solutions that benefit all of us in our region.
As a former chairman of Manchester's Planning Board, I say to Cape Ann voters: be aware how reckless Ms. Delisio can be. She regularly harassed our town staff, and most all votes she cast were defeated five or six to one. She was routinely unprepared and filled with shoot-from-the-hip opinions about everything. She consistently advocated for rejection of change without ever proposing solid alternatives in the blind belief that a
“No to everything” strategy somehow protects our community, never offering constructive solutions.
In reality, much of what Ms. Delisio attempted to do on the Manchester Planning Board would have effectively made the lives of normal people doing normal things more cumbersome, and more expensive.
Join me in voting for an experienced and effective advocate for Cape Ann, Dru Tarr.
Gary Gilbert, former Planning Board Chairman
Manchester
