To the Editor, On behalf of the Cape Ann GOP Debate Forum Committee, I would like to invite you and your readers to attend a debate featuring candidates for the Republican State Committee in the First Essex and Middlesex District.
The Cape Ann GOP forum is an independent forum started and is co-hosted by Jonathan Ring (chair, Rockport Republican Town Committee), Julie DePaolis (Chair of the Essex Republican Town Committee), and Phil Corey (Vice Chair of the Gloucester Republican City Committee). In addition, the group is joined by Jim Morose, chair of the Danvers Republican Town Committee, and Doug Dawes, Secretary of the Georgetown Republican Town Committee.
Candidates that have confirmed their attendance: Ashley Sullivan, Lisa-Marie Cashman, Cynthia Bjorlie, Michael Scarlata, and Jeff Yull.
Nicole Coles, and Clayton Sova, who will also appear on the ballot for state committee, have not responded yet to the invite but we're hopeful they will show. Each candidate is also invited to post on the event page for the debate: (20+) Cape Ann GOP state committee forum | Facebook.
This debate will be on Monday, February 19th from 7:30pm - 9:30pm at the Community Room of the Rockport Police Station, 168 Main Street, Rockport MA 01966. This event is Free and Open to the public. The moderator, Doug Dawes, will ask five questions of the candidates and then open the questions up to the audience. Each candidate will have a chance to articulate their vision to the public about how they will move the Republican party forward.
