BankGloucester Launches 17th Annual "Banking for the Community" Program

BankGloucester announced that voting has opened in its 17th Annual “Banking for the Community” fundraising program that asks local non-profit community groups to secure votes from their members and fans to compete for a grant from the bank. The window for the charities to secure their votes is open through September 30.
Over the past 16 years, through this program, the bank has awarded over $320,000 to non-profit and community organizations throughout the greater Cape Ann area.
This year the bank will award a $30,000 in grants to 19 organizations. Those with the highest number of votes will be awarded the largest grant allocations. The organization with the most votes will receive $5,000. The organization receiving the second most votes will receive $4,000. The organization with the third most votes will receive $3,000. Organizations with the fourth and fifth most votes will receive $2,000 each. All remaining organizations will receive $1,000 each.
Voting may be cast online at BankGloucester.com/vote. Ballots will also be available at our Gloucester, Essex and Ipswich branches for those without access to a computer. Winners will be announced in October.

The following organizations are included on this year’s ballot: Backyard Growers, Better Together for Cape Ann, Inc., Cape Ann Animal Aid, Cape Ann Museum, Cape Ann Veterans, Generous Gardeners, Gloucester Education Foundation, Ipswich Humane Group, Ipswich Education Foundation, Manchester Council on Aging, Manship Artists Residency, Maritime Gloucester, NAMI, The Open Door, Pathways for Children, Rockport Music – Shalin Lou, Senior Care, and Wellspring House.
On the ballot, there is a space where voters may write-in an organization of their own choice.
