April Coluntino Pollock

April Coluntino Pollock of Essex, passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2025 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer.  She was surrounded by friends and family.

Born on April 13th, 1968 in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Madeline (Moroni) Coluntino and the beloved wife of Todd J. Pollock.  April grew up in Beverly Farms and graduated from Beverly High School in 1986.  She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in political
science from Salem State University, graduating from there in 1992.

April began working as a paralegal in Boston before resigning to raise her two sons, William and Mark.  April dedicated her life to motherhood and excelled at it.  If you had to throw a blanket term over her life’s purpose, it would have been “being a mother”.  April and her husband Todd raised their boys in Manchester, before moving to Essex a few years back. When April saw fit, she began working as a substitute teacher at Manchester Memorial Elementary School.  Later down the line, her impact at the elementary school transfigured into a full-time position at Manchester Essex Regional Middle High School as a teaching assistant.

Beyond her professional life, April was a beacon of wit, mettle, and warmth.  Her character was never deterred or put in question throughout the duration of her battle.  April found and sustained immense joy in anything that came her way.  She prided herself on her ability to make people smile.  April had many vessels she could deliver this through; her cooking, decorating, and banter are some that spring to mind.  However, her strongest method of expressing her love was through conversation—furthermore, her inclination to listen.  April’s ability to project her endearment by making her subject feel heard and understood was truly monumental.

April is survived by her husband, Todd Pollock, her sons, William (23) and Mark (20), and her brother, Conti Coluntino.  In addition to her parents, April was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Coluntino.

April’s funeral service will be at the First Parish Church, Congregational, 10 Central Street, Manchester-By-The-Sea, on Wednesday, July 23rd at 11 a.m.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Visiting hours are at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Tuesday, July 22nd from 4 - 7 pm.

Per her request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in April’s memory to her sons, William and Mark by donating to “The Pollock Family Fund” through Venmo via this link Pollock Family Fund - Venmo.  Alternatively, scan the QR code at the top of the obituary.
