League of Women Voters: Vote Yes on Questions 4 & 9

Posted

To the Editor,

The League of Women Voters of Cape Ann has information about the State League's position on two ballot questions:

The League supports passage of Ballot Question 4.  It will allow Election Day voter registration and eliminate the arbitrary deadline of 10 days before an election to register. Also it will allow registered voters to correct any problems at the polls so they will be able to cast their vote.  Almost half the states in the country allow Election Day registration and it's time for Massachusetts to join them.

The league supports passage of Ballot Question 9 which will keep in place the firearms law that was passed in 2024.  That law banned "ghost guns", outlawed devices that can turn semi-automatic weapons into machine guns, modernized red flag laws, and strengthened violence prevention programs.  A YES vote will keep Massachusetts safer.

Remember Vote YES on ballot questions 4 and 9.
