This year’s Annual Town Meeting (ATM) is scheduled for June 21 at the Middle-High School athletic field. The gavel will strike at 6:30 p.m. to call the ATM to order. To encourage all to attend COVID protocols will be in place as an extra safety precaution. While the number of articles has been kept to as few as possible there are still very important decisions that need to be made including the resolution of five citizen petition articles.
On May 29 Singing Beach will reopen the bath house, parking lot and canteen. The beach will be open and staffed weekends only until June 21 and then will be open seven days a week. Parking at the beach is for residents only with valid 2021 stickers. A limited amount of non-resident spaces will be available on weekdays as space allows.
At their meeting set for Monday, on May 3, the Selectmen will review the Annual Town Meeting (ATM) articles and finalize the budget as we enter the final stages of preparation for the ATM, scheduled for June 21st. We will gather once again on the football field to vote on numerous budget articles and a handful of citizen petition articles.
Town Hall will be closed on Monday, April 19 in observance of Patriots Day. Trash collection will be delayed by one day.
After watching the Zoom meetings of both CIMAH and the Board of Selectmen, we are firmly convinced that the proposal made by SLV should not be deemed a “Friendly” Local Initiative Project (LIP).
