The 143rd Annual Manchester Elder Brethren Summer Picnic is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12 at Tuck’s Point; and as the tradition goes, the oldest male registered to attend will be presented with the Boston Post Cane.

Kelly was a kind, gentle and loving person who shared her entire life with animals and who put animals first.  Kelly contributed to improving animal lives as a veterinarian technician, animal shelter adoption counselor and kennel technician, and an animal hospital radiology technician.  Kelly volunteered at animal shelters, most recently at the Northeast Animal Shelter (NEAS) in Salem, MA and she fostered cats and dogs.  Throughout her life, she was a devoted and loving parent to cats, dogs, hamsters and rabbits.

Phillippi Ryan, who recently published the psychological thriller, “Trust Me”, joined Shannon Capone Kirk (right) and Tom DeMarchi (left), two powerhouse local authors in their own right at the “Authors & Friends” event on June 30th benefitting the Friends Of The Manchester Library.
