The Stock Exchange Holiday Bears

"Bears on Parade?" More like "Bears Gone Fishing" in this year's holiday storefront window at The Stock Exchange, Manchester-by-the-Sea.

This weekend begins the official downtown holiday shopping season in Manchester, with the Christmas By The Sea’s Holiday Stroll setting off weeks of festive events and programs in what—let’s face it—will be a very different holiday shopping season.  Seen here is The Stock Exchange’s annual “Fishing Bears” window display, another sure and comforting signal the holidays are here.

Retailers have been readying for a new kind of shopping season.  The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, which organizes Christmas By The Sea, has been working with retailers, town health and public safety officials, as well as the Board of Selectmen to ensure that safety and social distancing protocols are in place and in line with state mandates.  To focus attention on all the wonderful things residents have in their own retail back yard, The Cricket has devoted three pages this week to make shopping local easy and obvious for everyone.  Enjoy, and deploy (your wallets that is)!
