Support Families Who Carry The Candy Load At Halloween

To the Editor:

Halloween is just around the corner. I love how we do this in Essex. Families have a safe area of closed roads to trick or treat. Many houses on these streets go way overboard decorating their yards. The people at Chebacco Terrace have a big table with 20 or more bowls of goodies. They love seeing the families and children. The other side of this wonderful event is the candy. Do you know each of these families hand out over 500 pieces of candy every year? We all need to help them.

There are bins in the Town Hall lobby for those of us who enjoy this but are not on the route to drop off some bags of individually wrapped little candy bars/gum/fruit roll ups/vampire teeth.... Let's show these families how much we appreciate them. Town Hall is open Monday–Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. To those of you on the route — stop buy and grab what you need. Thank you for making Halloween fun. Thank you to our Police and Fire Departments for keeping us safe.
