I write to thank Manchester’s voters for reelecting me as moderator last week. It is an honor to serve the Town in this capacity, and I am grateful for their support.
I extend my congratulations and respect to each of the other candidates – both those who won office and those who did not. Manchester can only benefit when different individuals with different ideas compete for the voters’ backing. I look forward to working with those who were elected and hope that those who were not will seek other ways to stay involved.
One of the reasons I enjoy being moderator is the opportunity to interact with both employees and residents who make local government work. We are fortunate to have professional staff who do critical work every day, but the Town could not function without the efforts of our many volunteers. There are opportunities for virtually every background and skill set. I encourage residents to find a role that’s right for them.
