Lawrence P. “Bugsy” Hall, 84, of Manchester-by-the-Sea, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 14, 2019 at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace (Aiello) Hall. Born in Swampscott, he was the son of the late Clyde F. and Lillian (Parker) Hall. He was raised and educated in Manchester and was a graduate of Story High School, class of 1954. An honorably discharged veteran, he was a member of the United States Navy.

Bugsy had been employed as a firefighter for the Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1994. He also worked construction for many years.

He was past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Masconomo Council #1232, a member of the Manchester Club, the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, a life-time member of the Gloucester Elks Lodge 892, the Seaside Firemen’s Club and the International Association of Fire Fighters.

Surviving him is one daughter, Nancy Hammond, and her husband Mark of Manchester-by-the-Sea; one son, Clyde Hall and his wife Jonell of Lexington, NC; five grandchildren, Katie Hall of Lexington, NC, Sam Hall and his wife Brandy of Lexington, NC; Alison Ricci and her husband Eric of Providence, RI; Emily Hammond of Easton, MA and Whitney Hammond of Manchester-by-the-Sea; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sloane and Stella Hall and Grace Ricci. He was also predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Allerio Aiello and Larry Scola; his mother in-law, Antoinette Aiello and father-in-law, Paul Aiello.

His Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 62 School Street, Manchester-by-the-Sea on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment following at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester-by-the-Sea. A visiting hour will be held in the Church prior to the Mass on Friday from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bugsy’s name may be made to the Seaside Firemen’s Club, c/o Manchester-by-the-Sea Fire Department, 12 School Street, Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA 01944 or to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
