Christina J. St. Pierre

Christina J.  St. Pierre, 35, wife of Jason A. St. Pierre, died Wednesday July 8 following a brief illness.

Christina was born in Beverly on July 21, 1984 one of four children of Paul B. and Laura J. (Muniz) Wright of Essex.  She was a 2002 graduate of Manchester Essex Regional HS, went on to Quinnipiac University where she graduated in 2006 magna cum laude.  

Christina served as a Town Clerk for the last eleven years, serving the Town of Essex for eight years.  Among her many accomplishments, Christina’s most impressive was taking the town “from the 19th to the 21st century”, when she walked into the job the office didn’t even have a computer.  Most recently she was employed by the Town of Manchester-by-the Sea.  During this time, she was a member of the Massachusetts Town Clerks Association (MTCA) and the North Shore City and Town Clerks Association (NSC&TCA).  As a member of the MTCA, she obtained the prestigious certification of “Certified MA Municipal Clerk” in 2016 and was recently recertified in February 2020.  For the MTCA she served on the executive board, was a member of the Mentoring committee, and Legislative Committee.  As a member of the NSC&TCA, she was President of the Association for the last several years, and prior to that position she served on the Programming Committee. Christina was an exceptional Town Clerk, well respected in the field and made many friends over her last eleven years with other Town and City Clerks.

Christina did extensive community volunteer work.  She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Salem/Swampscott Youth Hockey organization and coached in the Learn-to-Skate program, spending many hours on the ice with her whole family teaching young children how to skate.  Her other volunteer work included running the kitchen for the Youth Hockey Bingo program and coaching Salem Youth Baseball.  Christina loved the outdoors and spent many weeks and weekends camping and hiking with her family and friends.  

In addition to her husband and parents  she is survived by a son, Jacob Robert St. Pierre (5) and a daughter, Lauren Rae St. Pierre (4) both of Salem; two stepsons, Matthew St. Pierre (19) and Adam St. Pierre (17), also of Salem; a brother, David Wright of Essex; two sisters, Ashley Wright and her companion Michael Santiano of Haverhill, Patricia Wright and her companion Thomas “TJ” Keblish of Essex; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Claire St. Pierre of Salem and brother-in-law, Scott St. Pierre and his finance’ Julie Leiferman of MN.  She was predeceased by her grandparents Mortimer and Helen Wright, Nancy Muniz and Albert Muniz Jr.

Her funeral Service will be held 11 am Friday, July 17 graveside in the Spring Street Cemetery, Essex.  Family and friends are respectfully invited and requested to wear a facial covering and respect social distancing.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital Neuro-Oncology Clinical Research 100 Cambridge St. Suite 1310, Boston, MA 02114.  To leave a condolence please visit www.whittier-porter.com
