Barbara Bohnwagner

Mrs. Barbara Bohnwagner, 92, died Friday, December 2, at Erlanger East Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Born and raised in Essex, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Louisa (Russell) Wood.  She was the sister of the late Harold Wood Jr., Dorothy (Wood) Smith, and Marjorie (Wood) Bradbury.

Mrs. Bohnwagner was married for almost 60 years to her beloved husband Eugene Bohnwagner, who predeceased her in April 2012.  They enjoyed traveling and RVing; particular favorite locations included Prince Edward Island, Canada; Niagara Falls, New York; and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

She held several jobs before raising her children.  After they were grown, she returned to the work force; she spent several years working at Friendly Ice Cream in Gloucester.

Mrs. Bohnwagner is survived by a daughter, Lisa Bohnwagner and her husband, Kevin Johnson, of Rossville, GA; three sons, Paul Bohnwagner and his wife, Heike Ott, of Tulsa, OK; Alan Bohnwagner and his wife, Paula (Field), of Rolesville, NC; and Neil Bohnwagner and his wife, Judy, of Oxford, ME; three grandchildren, Paul Bohnwagner and his wife Sara, Jeffrey Bohnwagner, and David Bohnwagner and his wife Christen (Panissidi); and three great grandchildren, Jacqueline, Samuel and Amanda Bohnwagner. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service at the Campbell, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Monday, December 12, at 11 a.m.  A private burial will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Barbara’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
