BOS Updates – March 24, 2020 

Town Hall is closed to the public until further notice. Staff is still available to help you with your business needs. Please email or call the appropriate department directly for assistance.  

Manchester-by-the-Sea Declared a State-of Emergency on Monday, March 23, 2020 due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19. This official declaration will allow essential resources to be expedited when necessary. A critical step to prepare for, respond to, and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 to protect the health and welfare of the people of Manchester. Parks and Recreation: 

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and to comply with State and Local guidelines the Board of Selectmen voted to temporarily close all public beaches, all public parks, all athletic fields, all tennis courts and their corresponding parking lots until further notice.  

Local Businesses: 

Please continue to help support our local businesses during this difficult time as you are able. Allen’s Pharmacy will continue to meet the medication and prescription needs of the Town but is asking that residents call ahead for curbside pick-up only 

Exemption Update: 

Exemption applications can be filed for Seniors, Veterans and Blind individuals, with the Assessor’s Office. Call Town Assessor Ginny Thompson at 978-526-2010 or send email to thompsong@manchester.ma.us to receive an application. 

Board of Health Update: 

This week Manchester had its first confirmed positive case of COVID-19. The BOH is asking that residents continue to focus on increasing personal hygiene, social distancing by staying home and avoiding crowds larger than 10. To learn more about how COVID-19 is impacting Manchester please visit the Town website www.manchester.ma.us. Nomination Papers: 

Nomination papers for Town elected positions are due at the end of the month.  Originals can be mailed to the Town Clerk or call to schedule a curbside drop off.
