The Cricket’s on TV. Get the Scoop!

There’s a new local television show and The Cricket is in it. Award-winning journalist and Manchester-by-the-Sea native Liz Brown Swanson has launched a monthly community television program on Comcast Channel 12 and YouTube called “SCOOP MANCHESTER.”

The half-hour program focuses on the news and events making headlines in town. Every month Manchester Cricket Publisher Erika Brown will join Swanson at the new 1623 Studios in Gloucester to give the scoop on the latest happenings in Manchester by-the-Sea. Local residents of interest and elected leaders will be invited on the set as special guests.

Both Brown and Swanson worked together as reporters in New Hampshire decades ago covering two U.S. presidential primary cycles in 1988 and 1992. (Swanson and Brown also happen to be cousins through marriage.)

MBTS resident Paul Jermain, a 1623 Studios board member, has been hosting and producing a local boating show on channel 12 for years. Scoop Manchester is proud to join Jermain in the tv line up.

The first edition of SCOOP MANCHESTER was shot last week in the new state-of-the-art 1623 Studios on Pleasant Street in Gloucester. 1623’s Executive Director Erich Archer reached out to Swanson to produce more programming that shines a spotlight on MBTS. Swanson has hosted and produced hundreds of community television shows in Los Angeles and, here on Cape Ann, winning awards for her coverage on topics like school bullying and bird rescue.

Comcast subscribers can watch the first edition of SCOOP MANCHESTER on Channel 12 Monday, Friday and Sunday at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 4:30 p.m. It also airs every Wednesday at 3:30 a.m. for night owls. For the “schedule-averse,” the show can also be seen at any time on YouTube.

Grab some takeout from town and enjoy the show!
