Manchester BOS Update for the Week of May 8th

Town Hall remains closed to the public. Staff is available to help you with your business needs. Please email or call the appropriate department directly for assistance.  

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic ALL public beaches, all public parks, all athletic fields, all tennis courts and their corresponding parking lots remain CLOSED until further notice. Failure to adhere to these restrictions could result in a fine. 

Board of Selectmen Update: 

Reopening plans for Town facilities in Manchester-by-the-Sea are underway. Masconomo and Reed Parks will be open for walkers starting this weekend if proper physical distancing and face covering protocols are being followed.  Additional phased reopening plans for other Town facilities will be communicated to all residents as soon as possible.  

DPW Update: 

Water pipe replacement work will begin the week of May 11, 2020 on Raymond Street and will continue through May.  Sewer pipe lining along Sawmill Brook between the elementary school and School Street will be taking place in the next couple of weeks as well.  In both projects, impacted residents will be notified in advance of the work, 

Treasurer Update: 

4th quarter real estate and personal property bills were issued April 1st and are due Monday, June 1, 2020. The due date extension is a result of new legislation in MA due to the impacts of COVID-19.  You can make a payment on the Town website, using the Town payment drop box or via mail. Please call Treasurer Jennifer Yaskell at 978-526-2030 with any questions. 

Town Hall Payment Drop Box: 

Installed at the rear of Town Hall by the Police Station Blue Door and monitored by a security camera. Please use this convenient box to drop payments off for any Town Bills. Please No Cash! 

Board of Health Update:

Face coverings are now required, per order of the Governor, when entering any public building as well as outside when proper social distancing of 6 feet is not possible. Get the latest information on COVID-19 please visit the Town website www.manchester.ma.us 

Trash, Recycling, Compost:

Regular schedule. Compost site is open for the season: Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
